With a background as Concept Designer at LEGO, Precious Metal Artist, and Architect I have a keen sense of development of shapes and ideas. It is a mixture of interests from this background which stimulates my present work. •From the architecture: light, shadow, spatiality and proportions. •From the industrial world: Concept development, product procurement and functionality. •From the world of precious metal: Materials, craftsmanship and artistic spirit. Creating for me means with colours, light, and materials to tell a story. To find my balance in a strong, non-verbal Language. The words I like to use from this language are clear and graphical with a poetic or playful accent.

”NEW YORK CROSS ROADS”
These Jewels are made for the exhibition ”stemningsbilleder”, my inspiration was a wall paper showing times square in New York. For a lot of people New York is the City off possibilities, and always when there is possibilities there are choices to be made. That is what I have been working with in this jewel series called”New York Cross Roads”. Possibilities: I have chosen the road grit at Times square as a symbol for a place with possibilities . Choices: The choices are stamped in the “roads” on the jewels. Dream/Reality, Act/Think, Childhood/Manhood, Sunshine/Shadow, Drink/Dance.

"X-SQUARE"
This design has a slightly hidden message that can make the viewer curious. If you come close enough you can see there is stamped two letters in the silver ( se ) and the thread makes a big X ( together s e x ) but depending on the eyes that see it can also just be a innocent cross stitch. And that is the point.
"X-ROUND"
This design use the reference to old cross stitch and silver buttons used as decorations. In this case the use of material and shape is stripped down to basic leaving an expression that is very refined and straight forward. |
"PINK BRAIN"
These designs works with a reinterpretation of the classic medallion, I have chosen to focus on the symbolic in “keeping a memory”. Today many keeps the pictures of the loved ones in the mobile, but no matter where you keep the photos, it is worth nothing without a brain to remember it.
For me the brain is the most beautiful medallion, with space for unlimited amounts of memories. So in these series of the updated medallion you will see variations of rooms shaped like brains.

"SCAR"
Many cultures use scars as body decorations as jewels to show their status and group identity. My “scar” jewels play with the raw and masculine expression off the aesthetics of a scar with the stitches sticking out calling for attention.
